I love Louis Armstrong's Wonderful World, it has some great lines in it like
"I hear babies cry, I watch them grow, they'll learn much more than I'll ever know" and "the bright blessed day, the dark sacred night"
"I hear babies cry, I watch them grow, they'll learn much more than I'll ever know" and "the bright blessed day, the dark sacred night"
As I said earlier, I like Farrow and Balls Teresa's Green paint - but not its price. Here is one of their suggestions for a lounge colour scheme - note the green walls, blue rug, bookcase, colourful artwork, light wooden coffee table and L-shaped sofa.
I actually found this picture after we had finished decorating.
We went instead for the IKEA/Wilko version
Please note the green walls, blue rug, bookcase, colourful artwork, light wooden coffee table and L-shaped sofa in the F&B shot.
We are very happy with the finished result. It is very easy on the eye. The colour is a good background for our two pictures- on the left, Bob's recent birthday present from me. This is by local artist Jenni Thorneley. On the right my acrylic, purchased from a bloke on Bude seafront in 1978. On the longest wall is a print of a map from the 16th Century showing Kent, Sussex, and parts of Essex and the edge of London. We bought it years ago - it shows Deal and Romford [where we were born] and a number of other places where we've lived in the last 66 years.
Bob at last has space to display and use his record deck- we have lots of books on hand, and a comfortable place to relax. And should we have lots of guests, that sofa makes a very comfortable double bed.
And I couldn't be happier with the way the shade goes with my William Morris/Sanderson print curtains ! We took Wednesday very gently - and today we are off to Essex for a couple of days. Fear not, Splashit and Run will be back soon!
It all looks very stylish and it seems to me done in record time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam. We were determined to get it finished in one go.
DeleteLovely coloured walls, green is always my favourite.

ReplyDeleteThank you. I do hope you two will get to visit us sometime!
DeleteI love green, your choice is slightly paler than my usual favourite but it looks beautiful with your gorgeous curtains and sets off your wooden furniture perfectly.
ReplyDeleteIt's ended up way better than we'd hoped. Which is lovely
