I've cleared all the Plaster of Paris and associated stuff from the Futility Room. Forty plaques are drying out in the back bedroom. Now I'm preparing ranks and ranks of little men
They are plastic bottles with pipecleaner arms and polystyrene heads, standing about 10"/25cm tall.
At Holiday Club the children will decorate coats with many colours and each dress their "Joseph" model to take home. They do remind me of the terracotta warriors in their serried ranks...
But they will be much more colourful when they are completed
Very colorful! :) Do the children paint the bottles or glue colored paper to create the coats of many colors?
ReplyDeleteGood question! They will have little fabric coats to decorate
ReplyDeleteFabric coats as well, Angela you are an amazing woman!! Cannot wait to see how they all turn out. How on earth did you collect all those bottles? JanF

DeleteDuring 2023 I've had the occasional meal replacement drink, and saved all the bottles because I was sure I could craft with them. That meant I had plenty in a box for this project.
DeleteThanks for the earworm!! Catriona
ReplyDeleteπSorry!
DeleteWhat a lovely idea. You do work hard for your Holiday club, Angela and I'm sure it is appreciated.
ReplyDeleteThe children - and their adults - are always grateful. And it is important to show we care. And I know YOU understand that a well planned, carefully prepared lesson is the best way to teach!
DeleteVery cute craft for the children! I'm in the process of coming up with a Valentine's craft for a children's outreach program in a couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find inspiration soon π❤️π
DeleteThat’s a great idea and one that they will remember. Those little figures look ready for action. Love Isabel
ReplyDeleteI will have to restick a few heads .they have decapitated themselves!!
DeleteApart from the half dozen whose heads didn't stick on properly! But they are easily sorted.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure those children are going to love those crafting activities.
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
I hope so
Deletelovely project and easy for all children to do.
ReplyDeleteIt caters for a range of abilities and ages, which is important
DeleteWhat a marvelous imagination you have and the energy to make the many Josephs!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
At least we only have 3 dozen children here, not the 100 we had in Kirby and Dorset (less space, and fewer staff means we have a lower limit on places)
DeleteThat's quite a little army of potential Josephs! The children will have fun decorating the cloaks.
