A few months ago I sought out more information on them and found that my dad, as well as I, are direct descendants of the James and George’s brother William (1786-1861) who had Josiah, who had William, who had Joseph, who had Earl Stanley Loveless (my great grandfather), who had my grandfather, who had my dad. To learn what we come from, the grit that is still ever-present in my rural Newfoundland family’s life, it brought my father to tears. I hope to bring him to Tolpuddle one day, so he can see where he comes from; a generation of men who loved and cared deeply and fought for what is right. Thank you for sharing this information! My mother who was born in Ontario, Canada was a direct decedent of one of the Loveless brothers (James, I think). My grandfather, Elijah Loveless was a Free Methodist Minister (as was his wife). In their early day the Free Methodists were active in the abolition of Slavery in North American and in women's rights) Its a wonderful heritage and your posts have reminded me of the continuing need to fight slavery in all its forms that is sadly still a huge problem in our world today.
Thank you for your posts.
Sylvia den HollanderSylviadhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14008743851328227386noreply@blogger.com
