Red Currants and Grey Roots

Aren't these beautiful? A friend said she was would make me some earrings, what colour would I like? I chose red - and they came, with a lovely matching necklace. Bob said that the earrings reminded him of juicy redcurrants

I said I'd wear them if I was feeling fruity. They look very good with my Joules tunic, the one from the CS with useful pockets. I may be in lockdown, but I still like to wear something smart for worship on Sunday morning.  From the front my hair looks OK, but the grey hairs are really
showing at the roots.

Bob says I needn't worry, they are only visible to taller people [but almost everyone is taller than me!]

I shall embrace the grey- now I am officially a Little Old Granny twice over.

And I hope people are so busy looking at my lovely jewellery that they don't notice my roots. Thank you, my friend, for sending me such a pretty distraction!

  1. The real redcurrants are just starting to look like your earrings.
    Embrace the grey!
(Cut my hair with the 6 comb you kindly sent and it didn't fall off so all OK.)

  3. Your post reminds me of something my brother once said when he was about five or six. Standing behind the armchair where my dad was sitting he declared "you've got a lot more hair when you're stood up, Dad!"
Being six foot two, it was hard for anyone to see his bald patch!
The jewellery looks lovely on you, good choice of colour!

  6. I'm missing the redcurrants at work and usually by this time, I'm turning them into jelly. My boss might have a bash at making some but it won't be nearly as fabulous as mine, just sayin'!!!!I'm embracing my grey hair, though I do miss being a redhead but at the same time, saving some pennies!

  7. Hi Ang! Even if they notice, they'll understand! I know people who are completely gray without their bottled dyes, so they KNOW! I'm a white haired granny from way back! Sending love to you! I love your currant earrings! So pretty!

    1. Your hair is gorgeous PP. Being all grey/white is fine, it's the untidy transition I'm struggling with

  8. They DO look like red currants! How kind of your friend to send those!
They look great! Your hair looks lovely. Mine is long, so long now. At the beginning of lockdown I was really regretting it being long but now I'm liking it.
P.S. I didn't get the job. I messed up the interview bit and whilst I think I was their second chouce, the lady who got it was hugely enthusiastic about her drama experience which fitted with their school better. He said that I should talk more about my positives rather than my negatives (which was my big mistake) but that I was the better teacher in terms of lessons and the kids absolutely loved my lessons. Feeling pretty gloomy that I messed up and suddenly feeling that I DO want the job now but that I've missed my opportunity.

  9. Every interview is a valuable experience. Use this as a confidence builder, and learn what to do/say more effectively next time. I've been through an experience like that. It is hard, but don't beat yourself up, take it as a step on the journey to the right 'next job'.
