March Forward...

We live in a rapidly changing world. Sometimes we all need to step away and seek a moment of peace. Bob and I are spending three days down in Colchester on the southern edge of Constable Country. We are glad to be able to 'get away from it all' just for a little while.
We have been extremely busy since Christmas, and will have even more going on through the next couple of months. A weekend in Essex may not seem the height of glamour and luxury - but it will suit us just fine!

  1. That sounds lovely; I followed your link and am wondering if you have picked 'a luxury hotel' or 'camping and glamping' for your stay or something in between 😃

    1. A review may follow. Suffice it to say that I upgraded to a hotel with a pool , to enable Bob to exercise his back, only to get here and find it's been out of action for over a week!!

  2. I've come away for eight days dog sitting a mere seven miles from home. I regard it as "catch up" time so my mind, soul and body can sync with each other. The dog is totally non-judgemental which helps.

  4. One of my favourite (and least appreciated IMHO!) parts of the country. I was at university in Colchester and spent many happy sunny days in exploring the borderlands between Essex and Suffolk on my bike and this started my interest in old churches, especially those on the redundant churches list. I loved the coastal estuaries too and those I explored by dinghy from Brightlingsea. Have a relaxing break Angela, don’t forget your knitting for the evening. I think you know how much I love the horse jumper and Rosie wears it so well. Sarah in Sussex

    1. It is a very undervalued corner of the country, I agree!

  9. Getting away to rest (both physically and mentally) is a wonderful idea. I think I need to do this as well. There's so much stress here right now. I'm sorry the pool there is closed. I hope you and Bob find the get away peaceful.
