So here we are, almost at the end of the month, and I've only just made a start on the December 2x2 patch. Fortunately Kirsten is equally behind, so we have allowed ourselves another week. Today will be a good day to sew as we don't have any family activities.
In the previous nine days we have seen Steph and family in Manchester, my bro and his wife [who live in the village], and also Julian, who came up from Romford on Saturday for three days [he went back last night, it's his 40th birthday today] Tomorrow we'll see Bob's sister and her husband, then Liz and family will be in Norfolk over New Year. It has been lots of fun...but you can understand why my stitching has foundered, unattended, on the top of the chest of drawers.
Today there are just the two of us, and Bob has succumbed to The Cold which seems to be doing the rounds.
So a quiet day, and time for gentle sewing. And perhaps a day for listing.
Listing in the sense of 'making a list', not 'leaning over' - although if I lack energy, there maybe some lying down later!

Lovely photo of the Manchester family and so good you got to see them in their new house. Tell Bob to take care as we are still have lingering effects from what seemed a head cold. Catriona
ReplyDeleteTaking it slowly today...still in dressing gowns!
DeleteI hope you miss the cold bugs. I think I caught it from DH when he sighed every time I handed him a hot drink.
ReplyDeletePlenty of fresh lemon and local honey in hot water, I put some in a small flask, and wondered why I never thought of it before.
Now thats a genius idea [he has to be careful with taking cold meds in case they affect his regular pill regime]
DeleteNear haircut on your wee redhead. Ours won't let a hairdresser near his barnet so his Mummy has to tackle it! I've had the tapestry from my sewing group home with me for two weeks and haven't touched it! Luckily I have until the 14th Jan when we regroup to make an effort! Are your decs still up?
ReplyDeleteHe's pretty good at the barbers. Decs still up - waiting for Jess and Rosie to help us Un-deck the halls on Thursday Morning
Delete*neat!
DeleteMy helpers are too busy to help their old Nana un-dec! I've made a start anyway and have already filled a bag for charity shop. Wonder if they'll take Xmas decs at this time?
DeleteI think they prefer them in November, so they don't have to keep them in the stockroom all year
DeleteThat looks like a happy family table. I hope Bob soon starts to feel better. xx
ReplyDeleteSo do I, he's really struggled today
DeleteIris calls it Taking Christmas Down. Its always lovely seeing family, but just as nice to have time to ourselves. I've caught up on all the houseworky jobs and the floors have had a good mop. Hope Bob gets over his cold quickly. Xx
ReplyDeleteWell done. I've sat around sewing, keeping Bob company, watching Christmas TV
DeleteWhat joy!
ReplyDeleteHugs!

DeleteThis time of year can get overrun. I hope that you have a quiet day.
ReplyDeleteWe have had a lovely quiet day, thank you
DeleteI hope you can have some time to relax, and that Bob soon gets over his cold. We are relaxing with flu, taking all day naps in bed and checking what time of day it is!
ReplyDeleteResting seems the best course of action
DeleteYou've been busy! I hope Bob feels better, soon and that you don't catch it! Take care of yourselves.
