This is the theme for the 2026 Christmas stamps, released in Tuesday by Royal Mail and designed by Rebecca Sutherland and Gareth Howat. I think they are absolutely lovely. I shall buy a year's worth! The five illustrations chronicle the classic Nativity
narrative:
- Mary and Joseph's difficult journey to Bethlehem
- The infant Jesus in the manger
- A watchful angel
- The humble shepherds receiving the good news
- The Three Wise Men following the guiding star
PS Thank you l for your kind birthday wishes for Bob yesterday

I think I must get me to the Post Office! I like the ordinary 1st and 2nd class ones best - hope I see a lot of them!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, I like the angel and the manger best too
DeleteThose stamps are really beautiful and I love the theme ‘Journey of Hope,’ thanks for sharing them Ang. I hope you have a lovely day xx
ReplyDeleteThanks SA - after the fun of Bob's birthday, this afternoon will be spent in the dentist's chair having a large, dodgy molar extracted! 🦷
DeleteThey are lovely!
ReplyDeleteWell thought out and designed beautifully
DeleteHow beautifully traditional.
ReplyDeleteThey are very appropriate

DeleteOh, they are beautiful. I love the colours and the simplicity of them.

DeleteThese are really lovely Christmas stamps this year. I don't post many cards now but I shall enjoy using these stamps.
ReplyDeleteI buy lots and use them throughout the year ahead
DeleteI hadnt realised that they were out. They're beautiful.
ReplyDeleteReally lovely
DeleteLovely stamps. I hope your molar extraction goes well and your recovery will be pain free. I have a dentist appointment this afternoon, myself! Not for an extraction, though, thankfully!
ReplyDelete🦷 Extraction went smoothly. Hope your dental visit was OK too 🦷
DeleteBit unusual to see this sort of thing at Christmas. Hurrah, I say. Also noticed that there is a Nativity scene on one of M&S's Advent Calendars this year. (They may do it every year, but I haven't noticed)
ReplyDeleteOh that's sweet. If I'd seen that earlier I would have got that instead of the one in the Christian bookshop (puritan, without chocs!)
DeleteThe stamps are gorgeous. I'm wondering if our post office will come up with any that are actually "Christ"mas themed!

DeleteI decided to check on-line for our stamps and this is what we have this year for a religious stamp: https://store.canadapost-postescanada.ca/store-boutique/en/114329/p/christmas-2026-booklet-of-10-permanent-stamps
ReplyDeleteI think I like yours better, but at least we tried! Of course we don't have an official religion in Canada, so it is all rather low-key.
Lovely to have angels 😇 on your stamps too.
DeleteI love those stamps. Wish Canada did something similar. Jean from Manitoba
