Yesterday I had a dodgy molar removed. It was huge, and cracked, and needed to come out. Roshan removed it smoothly, in one go, with no pain. Lots of anaesthetic involved. Much numbness. And then 4 months for the gum to heal and then an implant to fill the huge gap. [leaving a huge gap in my savings account...]

Glad all went well Ang despite the ‘gaping hole’ in your bank account! If it’s not dentists it’s eye watering vets fees - I know these folk have worked hard and they have to pay overheads and make a living but still it’s pretty ‘spendy.’

Thank you San!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it was pain-free but sad it wasn't cost free!
ReplyDeleteRight now, I am very grateful to Have a dentist. Norfolk is really in need of more. And I will budget carefully so I'm ready for the bigger bill in the Spring.
DeleteSo glad the extraction went well, here's today's swift and excellent recovery. At least you have time to prepare for the Big Bill, I hope that doesn't prove to be too painful!
ReplyDeleteI'm not thinking about the bill right now!
DeleteSo pleased the extraction went well. Dental fees can be exorbitant but necessary. My sister lives in Norfolk and she was lucky to find a dentist not too far from where she lives. We have our check-ups in December, financially not a good month with Christmas on the horizon. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your extraction went well and there was no pain due to the numbing. Hope the recovery goes well. My dental appointment went well enough; I'm being fitted for a partial denture because I refuse to get implants.
ReplyDeleteSadly adjacent teeth cannot support a partial denture!
DeleteI am sorry the tooth had to come out, but glad it wasn't painful with the anaesthetic. Dentists are hard to find here as well. I'm back from a wonderful trip and so pleased that I went. The school reunion was lovely. Spring was just settling in there.
ReplyDeleteSo glad your trip went well, I hope you met up with many old friends
DeleteI'm glad it went well for you, isn't local anaesthetic a wonderful thing. Maybe a shot of it for your bank balance next. ;-)

DeleteGlad you didn’t have too much discomfort with the extraction. Last time I had a tooth removed it didn’t go at all well and ended up with stitches and antibiotics. Catriona
ReplyDeleteOuch!!
DeleteWell done to your dentist. Mum looked as if she had done several rounds with a boxer and had a broken jaw. It was all sorted eventually and she was pleased with her implants.
ReplyDeleteThus far, I feel I have got off lightly
DeleteGlad the extraction went according to plan and agree that even having a dentist is a stroke of luck. I recently had a check-up at my NHS dentist and was surprised to be asked to pay up-front rather than on the way out. Changed times.
ReplyDeleteEven the NHS want to be sure of getting your cash (missed appts cost them money)

DeleteI hope it goes well and I believe it will. I have an implant which was put in about 30 years ago and going strong! I am so annoyed with myself because I didn't know my insurance this year ( for the first time ever) had some dental coverage and so I paid for cleanings and check ups. Thank goodness nothing major! ReplyDeleteI don't have an insurance plan, but if I did, it would not cover implants
DeletePleased your extraction was painless but obviously not to your bank balance. At least you have time to save, apart from Christmas being in the middle. Fortunately my dental appointments aren't till January, but have Dentist and Hygenist within 4 days of each other! Xx
ReplyDeleteMine were book for the same day (cuts down on travelling) then the hygienist was unwell so I had to go twice. Hoping for no more visits till march
