Celebrations And Jubilations

award2The County Council website says

To mark Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee,  the Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire has launched an award scheme
for community groups, which seeks to acknowledge the fantastic work that is undertaken by so many organisations in Leicester and Leicestershire for the benefit of their community.

awardThe Diamond Jubilee Awards will be given to Community groups who have shown that their community has done something exceptional and positive to develop a community spirit and has enriched the lives of its members and the wider community.

60 Diamond Jubilee Awards will be awarded during 2012, one for each of the sixty years of Her Majesty’s reign…to groups where people are working as a team, and volunteering their time and energies, to enhance their community.

Winning groups will be given a plaque to display on their premises

And guess what? One of the sixty recipients is

KIRBY MUXLOE FREE CHURCH

But Bob won’t be at the chapel this morning to celebrate- because he will be organising the Village Jubilee Celebrations on the school field!

  1. Huzzah! Enjoy the celebrations. I've put a bit of bunting outside Dormouse Mansions...I'll post a photo later.

  3. How nice!
I couldn't find anything about the Jubilee on the television last night. Sad face.
I love my bloggers and how they show me what they are doing to celebrate.

  6. Isn't that fantastic! Wonderful church - I'm so glad your faithful and up-beat service is recognised! And also, wonderful country. I do admire more and more the way that Britian keeps up a working relationship with its Christian community.
