I read in the New Scientist that people with poor, or over-generalised memories, are more prone to depression. The thinking is that they can't remember the good things that have happened to them in the past when times get bad, so lose confidence. It reminded me so much of the exhortations in the Bible to remember what God has done for us. Same thinking, I'm pretty sure...
Thank you - it has also been my experience, that as I learn more of who He is, I become more confident in being who I am, because who I am is safe in who He is - if that makes sense.
