Pause in Advent 2012 – #2

Pause in Advent Logo from Floss

In his unceasing quest to find meaningful video clips which will enhance our Sunday worship, Bob came across The Nativity Factor. It is a competition for ‘shorts’ relating to the Christmas story. Loads of groups enter, adults and children, and there are some amazing entries. This is the one we watched in church last week.

stunning young actors!

Mary must have been so frustrated as she tried to explain to Joseph

Joseph must have been quite baffled by the whole business

And the angelic messenger was delivering the Greatest Message ever

How would I have reacted if I’d been one of the characters?

..I watched it a week ago and I am still thinking about it!

  1. What a brilliant sketch! I love the expression on Joseph's face, and the angels were fantastic. It was very thought provoking too.

  2. That's really great. The two young angels were particularly good.

The line "you'd better get a donkey!" reminded me of the first Nativity play I organised as a teacher. The angel was played by a very bossy little Jewish girl, called Judith. She jumped (hop-hop like a rabbit) onto the stage, flapping her hands, and (changing her lines ever-so-slightly) said to a stunned Mary
"You're going to have a baby." Pause. Menacing tone: "And you'd better call him Jesus!" Big smile. Rabbit hops off stage.

  3. Thanks for the video-clip - we really enjoyed it especially the two angels. All the acting was so good and a great way of putting the story over. Anne (South-West)
