The Big Knit Is Back!
I have had my letter from AgeUK, asking me to produce some hats again for the Innocent Smoothie Bottles. Every bottle-with-a-hat sold will mean 25p goes to the charity. They are aiming at 800,000 hats! [Which represents £200K] Details here
My hats tend to be simple hats with bobbles – and occasionally a stripe [because I use up my scraps] but Jo in Devon has set up an amazing website, with dozens of patterns. If you want to contribute something rather more interesting, do take a look at her site
Button Hats
These are just a few of the dozens of patterns which Jo has freely published for the use of the BigKnit Campaign. You have to look at her site to appreciate them all! More patterns on the Innocent Site [here] It is Twelve Years since the campaign started – and I have been involved from the beginning. It takes me around half an hour to knit the simple hat – and once I have made a batch, then I make a pile of pompoms for them. Hardly any wool, hardly any effort – but someone, somewhere will benefit. That has to be worth doing!
They are genius!!!!!! Oh my, knitted fez!!! I wonder if they could scale up? I'd totally learn if I could work on a knitted fez!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a talented lady!!!!Xx
And yes, it is totally worth doing. If I learnt, I'd give it a go for this good cause!!!x
ReplyDeleteIt can't be that time already, can it! Now to hunt out the needles, and some wool.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic site - so many variations.
