Unfortunately Liz hasn't been too well, laid low by a tummy bug. So Monday and Tuesday I was in London, to help with Rosie, whilst Jon went to work and Liz slept. Rosie and I had great fun - we went on the bus to the library and changed her reading books, and bought groceries in Sainsburys. And I put her in the sling for a walk down the Walworth Road. Even in the fortnight since I last saw her, she had grown so much. She adores bathtime, chuckling, and smiling, and splashing around.
But I have definitely missed a marketing opportunity. On Monday afternoon, when she was in the sling, I put on one of Jon's fleeces and zipped the pair of us inside. Her head was peeping out, so Liz popped the "Emergency Hat" on her head. [The one I made at Easter]
As I wandered in and out of shops, FOUR different women commented on the pretty baby and asked where I'd got the hat. I wished I had made more, so I could whip one out of my bag and say "£2 and it's yours!"
Liz seems to be recovering well, so I am back in Dorset now.
I have two craft projects on the go at the minute - but cannot say anything about them just yet [neither involves clothes for babies though]
More like "I happen to have one here that you can buy for £5"! Don't undersell yourself!
ReplyDeleteI am no good at marketing, clearly!
DeleteDefinitely £5.00. Go forth equipped with hats.
ReplyDeleteLovely that you could step into the breach for Liz, maybe that's why God hasn't sent a job your way yet. You're a Grandma!
You may be right there- I have no paid job, but He is certainly keeping me busy!!
DeleteSorry Liz was under the weather but how nice that you were able to travel to London and lend a hand.
ReplyDeleteIs it possible for you to offer the baby hats for sale at your church jumble sale or similar? This would be a win-win all around.
Sandy
Perhaps I should get some knitted in time for the Christmas Fair
DeleteNice to hear Liz is doing better, and Grandma and granddaughter had a nice outing together.:-) That's an adorable hat! I think I will make one for Ruby Leigh and a couple extra, just in case! :-)
ReplyDeleteI say ten pounds! Even though you whipped the emergency hat up in record time, it's still a lovely hand knit item that is worth more than 2 pounds. I can' tell you LOVE being a granny! Rosie is BLESSED indeed!
ReplyDelete£2 is too little! £5. You can always go down if they wanted to barter!!x
