In one school where I worked, with the youngest children, under 5, there was a ritual of the senior teacher ringing her little bell and trilling "It's Tidy Up Time!" - and all the little darlings [well, most of them] sang the chant back to her, then began flinging toys into brightly coloured plastic boxes with joyful abandon. Although this task happened daily, we always seemed to get to the end of the week and find stuff in the wrong boxes, or still under the table, or hidden in the sandtray. We [the other teaching staff] were not allowed to go home till every last piece was in its correct box. The last couple of days have been a bit like that here at Cornerstones; we have sorted out DIY equipment [heavy rain plus lack of car meant we were forced to stay home, so we began the painting of the Futility Room] and we have picked up all the books and toys which Rosie has managed to deposit in odd places. Everything is done and dusted vacuumed, the fridge and bread bin are empty and clean, bed-sheets changed, bags packed...and we are taking our sad, sick old Skoda back to Dorset. I have no idea how the journey is going to pan out... We've had a great week and been blessed by the opportunity to be with family and friends. For those of you who are fans of Alexander Armstrong on Pointless, here's one of his other TV shows - Hey Duggee! Rosie absolutely adores this programme, and generously gives out 'Duggee Hugs' all round when it is over.
Haha, our Nursery/Reception staff sing , "Hands up high and listen to me x3, Thank you everybody!" To the tune of Skip to my Lou to get the kids to tidy up at our school! Poor Skoda! We were looking at cars today to replace our poor Ford Focus which failed its MOT in multiple ways! They are sooo expensive!!
