...but whoso shall offend one of these little ones which
believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his
neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea...
I hope you don't mind me correcting you - but it is Jeff not John. I had to look up what happened, because I couldn't believe that John would be so spiteful....
I was truly offended at Sessions using the Bible to justify this inhuman policy! I am not American and while I understand that a country should have the right to decide who crosses their borders or not - surely there is a better way of dealing with the situation than separating toddlers & even babies from their mothers!
Unfortunately, there are people, here, who are saying that, if illegal migrants crossing the borders don't wish to have their families separated, they shouldn't be crossing the border in the first place. This is how many here see this. Not all, but. many. Or, at least, enough. They are good, devout, religious people, but there is no sympathy or compassion if you try to come here, illegally. Because we are a law-abiding nation and we have the Bible to validate it.
I find this a very painful photo to look at. John Session’s way of justifying it is unbelievably cynical.

DeleteI know Philip won't mind! Sometimes it's the autocorrect. John is British actor and Jeff is a White House spokesperson!
DeleteWithout being overly political, I'm hoping that there will be such an enormous backlash against this policy that it will force a change.

ReplyDeleteTruly I tell you, whatever you did for the least of my brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me
Matthew 25.
Surely this relates to bad as well as good? This is very bad, not at all what Jesus asks of us.

ReplyDeleteI didn't know about this as our TV is not working but from the comments, I can guess what it is about! It is shocking!
