Driving through various villages en route to the library yesterday I passed a number of little red vans and postmen (no women, I noticed) and lots of posters about community events for the Coronation. It occurred to me that with the new King, perhaps we should get rebranding for the post office?
Don't forget tomorrow is Star Wars Day [May The Fourth Be With You!]
Ha!!! Funny Ang! Kx

DeleteThere's an old George V post box on the way home on the school run and I've often been stuck in traffic next to it, marvelling that it's endured. It's kind of nice that the new boxes will get the new king's cipher, but the old ones will remain like a memorial.
ReplyDeleteYes it is good - and I thoroughly approve of the policy of relocating postboxes if they need to be removed from their original location [due to new housing developments/road widening etc] In Dorset we had a King George postbox in the middle of a 1970s development!
DeleteWe have a lady post person!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she's kept busy delivering mail to you - it's lovely when you can get to know your postperson
DeleteThat made me laugh-thank you! Catriona

DeleteAnd May the Fourth Be With You Too, I'm not even a Star Wars fan really but I do like this day every year. :-)

DeleteSomehow I never imagined that HRH's profile and picture would disappear from royal postage.
ReplyDeleteMay the 4th be with you, too!
Hugs!
And our currency will gradually change too
DeleteI wonder what Jolly would think about that?

DeleteThanks for the laugh!

DeleteIf they rebrand the post office, they might have to pay royalty to the Star Wars franchise! Do Royalty pay royalty, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteOh that's a brilliant comment, Bless!! 👑
DeleteOh very good!
