I have been much involved with sleeves recently. I've taken the 'cuffs' off my blue summer dress, it's much more comfortable over my 'bingo wings'. I simply hand stitched some navy bias binding, and turned it to the inside.
The other challenge was my friend's shirt. She said it was a favourite shirt, but too tight on her upper arms. Like me, I don't believe she ever plays Bingo, so I don't know why we both have the 'wings'! The shirt had already started to rip.

Good jokes for Rosie! And neat work on those sleeves... I used to wear a worn-out shirt under a jumper for the collar; fine as long as I didn't need to take my jumper off...

DeleteGreat adjustments to prolong the life of two garments. I have done a wardrobe declutter ,(too small ) washed my summer trousers and T-shirts, and taken up the sleeves of a fleece for Norrie (which he was going to donate!) Garden clearing today I hope. Catriona

DeleteBingo wings are a nuisance. I have tried using weights as recommended by a friend, just lifting a light weight up and down, lifting the forearm bending the elbow about twenty times each arm. I think it's worked a bit but I still have crepey skin anno domini gets us all I guess. Great repair work as always. Regards Sue H

ReplyDeleteI'd never hear the term "Bingo wings" before but I know all about wrinkled arms, in fact when I was discussing them with a friend once, she said she had often wished she could take the iron to hers!
