The Boring Bit

Following some comments and questions about the cakestand post, I have asked Bob for advice about making these. He says

• practise on an old plate first
• mark the centre spot carefully [with a Sharpie]
• start drilling on the underside
• drill slowly, with steady pressure
• use water as a lubricant whilst you drill
• once the tip breaks through to top surface, stop!
• once tip starts to break through, use less pressure
• turn the plate over, finish from top side
• do not overtighten the screws when you assemble the stand

He certainly knows the drill!

UPDATE ON THE ELF

Grateful to my good friends Jean and Kara from church [they are Mother&Daughter Education Professionals Par Excellence, when it comes to Preschool and Foundation Stage] who have texted me to say that ELF = Early Learning Facilitator “We call the person that when they are either observing the children, or ‘playing’ with them  and extending their learning”.
