This 97 year old lived very close to Cornerstones. We were privileged to meet him two summers ago at a village fete, and he was splendid – mentally alert, witty, and friendly, and happy to talk all about his experiences and his inventions. A very gracious gentleman indeed, for whom I have much respect.
The idea of a tiny one-person flying machine is great fun – and I can see why it was used in a James Bond film. But in truth, the idea of flying solo terrifies me – I am not that keen on flying anyway, and would rather leave the job of pilot to someone more qualified.
It is a good job that in life, I do not have to go it alone.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
I am facing an even busier week than usual – those verses from Isaiah will be an encouragement to me as I ‘fly about’ from place to place. Praying that you too, dear readers, may know the strength you need to face the challenges ahead of you.

ReplyDeleteWhen we were in Norfolk last week, BBC Radio Norfolk played part of an interview with him as a tribute. Fascinating man.
