Tis A Far, Far Batter Thing I Do...

Said Bob as we loaded Rosie and Jess into the car yesterday afternoon and headed off for chapel

He cooked well over 100 pancakes. Loads of families from the village came. My activities table was well received

All those children who coloured pictures, did word searches, made Mardi Gras Carnival crowns, or did Chinese New Year activities went home with a small bag of Haribos and a Chinese banknote for ¢500,000! Rosie and Jess were really friendly and helpful, welcoming visitors, explaining the Crafts and helping clear up.  I was too busy to take pictures!
£50 was raised to help Ukraine. We were quite exhausted, but pleased how well it went.

  2. Simply wonderful!
Yesterday afternoon I ran to my favorite bakery and bought pancakes; he makes the best ones around—no Carnival without pancakes!
Baking 100 pancakes is a great achievement. I've never tried making them myself, even though I love to cook and bake.
    Sending you warm greetings.
    Relax today!

  5. That sounds like a lot of good came from that. There was the money for Ukraine, but also the joy for the kids and the boost to community spirit. All respect to Bob - I'd lose my mind trying to cook 100 pancakes!

  6. Well done! We used to volunteer serving pancakes at a Maple Syrup Festival in Illinois. It was a great fundraiser but we were given the pancake batter already made up and had a special device which dispensed enough batter for one pancake, so it was easy! JanF
