I am struggling to get my head around this huge number.
My blog has had over 4,000,000 hits since it began in March 2008.
Thank you so much, to all of you who follow Tracing Rainbows. Some have been here since the beginning, others are more recent followers.
Your comments - publicly here, or privately via email, have been so kind and so encouraging. I thank you for them all.
I don't know how many people are represented - but it has been great to make new friends, and especially to connect in person.
As a Thank-you I am going to pack a giveaway parcel - please leave a comment BELOW before Tuesday 3rd January, and a name will pulled out of the hat then.[I'll be a bit busy over the weekend]
I cannot find any songs with "four million" in the title. Katie Melua had 9M bicycles in Beijing and PTBarnum had 1M dreams.
I don't know what your hopes and dreams are for the coming year - peace and love are very high on my list.
Congratulations on that fantastic milestone. Please don't enter me in your giveaway: I've won one of yours previously!
ReplyDelete👍 And it was lovely to have a cuppa together when you were in Dorset
DeleteThank you very much for you blog. I came one year via another blog for the Pause in Advent one year, and have stayed ever since. You have a lovely community here, which has brightened my mornings. I'm so glad to have 'met' you!
ReplyDelete👍Doing The Postcard Project with you has been a high spot of this year
DeleteAnd for me (just 3 days to finish December, better crack on!)
DeleteI'm not started December stitching yet either!
DeleteI can’t remember how I came across your blog, but I appreciate your commitment to the task and look forward to reading it every day
ReplyDeleteThank you Jane - I'd hoped we could meet properly before we left Dorset, but covid got in the way!
DeleteI'm a reader but not a commenter. I do enjoy your blog, Angela - you always seem to have such positive things to say, even when the subject is serious. And how about four million, three thousand, two hundred twenty one tears from now by Judy Stone?
ReplyDeleteGeorgina
Thank you Georgia. Great song suggestion from a popular Australian singer, with her 1964 hit. She's not so well known in the UK I think
ReplyDeleteWell done for all those page views - a BIG number indeed.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sue - your blog is inspirational, and maybe we will finally meet up in 2023
DeleteI enjoy your blog too and its impressive how you manage to find something interesting to write about every day. I agree with Georgina - it always ha a positive tone.
ReplyDeleteThank you Philip. I enjoy your blog, which so often helps me reconnect with the seasons and appreciate Creation more
DeletePlease don't include me in your giveaway, but, I just wanted to comment, anyway!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on reaching such a milestone number of views! I would read your blog on and off for some time before I actually commented! But, you had a bible verse on your sidebar that resonated with me, just after I was diagnosed with cancer and I remember posting a comment about it. You responded with another verse that you thought I might like. I still read those two verses as part of my morning prayers, 7 years later and counting. :)
As others have said, you have such a positive blog and it has been a pleasure getting to know you and your family through your blog.
Bless, I count you as a true friend I have yet to meet. I am so happy that your health is improved now ❤️ I love reading your blog
DeleteI'm always amazed at how you manage to find an interesting topic for every day! I resorted to lame LOL cats or revisiting posts when I was posting every day in November, yet you always have a "proper" something to say. I love your blog and it's the first one I visit. Love Fat Dormouse xx
ReplyDeleteThank you FD. Your blog is thought provoking and fun (cats notwithstanding!)
DeleteCongratulations, what a fantastic achievement. May I enter, thank you - many blessings - Jill x
ReplyDeleteOf course, Jill
DeleteI, too am a reader but not much of a commentator. I’ve been reading since before you moved to Dorset. Well done on over four million views. I second Georgina’s comments.
ReplyDeleteThank you SJ
DeleteWhat a milestone, I knew of you from when you lived in Leicester. We had the pleasure of meeting you a few years ago at you bungalow. You posts are always an interesting/ helpful read. Long may your blog continue.
ReplyDeleteYes we did - I'd love it if more people could visit Cornerstones for a cuppa!
DeleteI liked the title of your blog and started to read from then on. Best wishes for a happy, healthy and crafty 2023. Catriona ( in very wet Scotland)
ReplyDeleteThanks C. Norfolk is dry and sunny today, but windy
DeleteWow, that is an amazing figure Angela and it goes to show how valued you are ... and always have been... in Blogland.
ReplyDeleteIt's good having a look at the stats every now and then isn't it. My blog seems to be like a book to some people and there are always one or two reading right back from the start, I like to click on the post they are reading at that moment and see what I was doing at the time.
Your blog is a real inspiration especially to those of us trying to live and eat in a responsible way.
DeleteMy kids belt this song out (loudly) they love it so much. Great choice! Congrats! I believe I found you via That British Woman.
ReplyDeletewow that is a lot of people and a long time. Where did you find out the stats on that? Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteHi Gill. Blogger gives me daily/monthly/all time stats. Thanks for your blog (see comments above!)
DeleteI so enjoy dipping into my favourite blogs each day - hope it doesn't sound daft but I find it very grounding, the world is sometimes a scary place but friendship and reaching out in kindness to others costs nothing does it?
ReplyDeleteThank you for your positivity
Alison in Wales x
Yes, I agree. Particularly in the isolation of the pandemic, it was good to connect with others. I appreciate your frequent kind comments
DeleteWow! Well done Angela, your posts are always a pleasure to read. How thoughtful to have a giveaway....but please dont enter me.
ReplyDeleteThanks E. You have been a gracious and wise friend for over a decade. It was a privilege to visit you and M. In recent weeks you have been often in our prayers
DeleteI’m a friend of Kirsten and she would often comment on something she saw on your Pause in Advent blog, making me wish I knew how to find it. Then one year you were unable to do it and she stepped in. At some point she added a link to your blog on her blog so every day I click on that. I always find your views thought provoking and, as someone else said, very positive. When you and Kirsten started the postcard project it inspired me to take up cross stitching again after a lapse of 25 years. I just completed three projects for my grandchildren for Christmas and has done wonders for my hands (and brain I think). Many thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynda. Hoping to actually meet up with Kristen next year. I'm so glad you've rediscovered cross-stitching. Thank you for your kind words
DeleteCongratulations Ang! Your blog is the most interesting, varied and consistent one I need and is the first thing I read most days on the train to school! So glad I know you and that you are my friend. Xx
ReplyDeleteAnd you are my friend Kezzie - and I will never forget your kindness to my aunt (who got to meet you before I did) and your thoughtfulness last year when I was struggling with the pain of loss. Bless you ❤️
DeleteWow! Yay for you and Tracing Rainbows. We saw Hugh Jackman in The Music Man at the beginning of the month. Wow! Keep writing, smart friend! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteHey, Pompom, organiser of Postman Pat's Travels and wacky, wonderful Gran. You've been a blogfriend since the beginning
ReplyDeleteI read your blog everyday but haven’t commented before . Sorry! I just enjoy the day to day that you write about . 4000000 is amazing . Happy new year. Jane 😀
ReplyDeleteThank you Jane
DeletePeace, love, and kindness are all on my list and they're all free.
ReplyDelete4,000,000,000?! Amazing!!

DeleteCongratulations! Your blog is very interesting, so it's no wonder you've had a lot of visitors. We can't give up to pray and hope for a more peaceful and better world.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marit. I love your Scandinavian blog, especially your wonderful knitting. Yes, we hope and pray for peace
DeleteCongratulations and may you long continue, as others have said thought provoking on serious stuff but always well thought out blog. You have made me expand my knowledge by your trips to NT houses, your love of wordsmithing (is that even a word?) And showing gratitude each day. I have been with you since the early days at Kirby Muxloe. Long live Chasing Rainbows.
