Following my frustration with
Vera briefs in January, my daughter suggested I try Primark pants. Three months later I am happy to report that they're much nicer than those I got online, a fraction of the price, and better quality than my last pack from M&S.
Always recently posted a voucher through my door ŵorth £9, to get a free pack of their disposable pants. Although I do not use them myself, I redeemed it, and put the pack in the Foodbank donations bin as I left the supermarket.
Somebody will be grateful for them.

Double Meanings. There seem to be quite a few Charity Events happening now the weather is improving. Posters all over the place advertising Craft Fairs, Open Gardens and Yard Sales. But why don't people ask someone to proofread their publicity before they put it up?
I couldn't believe this one. Three spelling mistakes, and the postcode handwritten later, because otherwise you'd never find the event.
I do like the idea of Faye at the Cummity Centre, it sounds so quaint. These last two pictures were taken on a recent trip to Wymondham [pronounced Windham] They like to be different! Here's the sign in the car park.
Kett's Rebellion was in 1549, but you'd think it was last week by the number of references to it in the town!
I don't understand why that water flow thingamajig is female.
ReplyDeleteAh, but is Wymondham pronounced Windham (as in "The Wind is blowing'+" ) or Windham (as in "I'll wind the clock!")?
Blowing in the Wind Ham. Connectors are either male or female, depending on shape.
DeleteCummity sounds like one of those medieval dishes, like frumenty, that get dragged out at re-enactments and Christmas.

DeleteOh gosh, I do laugh and occasionally get annoyed with such obvious typos and mistakes on posters (and in books). As you say a quick proof-read by someone else would solve 99% of these errors. Although Faye crafting at the Cummity Centre is brilliant!!
ReplyDeleteSomeone will be so grateful for the Always pants, we had to buy a LOT for Mum until her NHS supplies kicked in, around six months worth at £14 a pack.
Just seen another cs with accessories tied to a stand, fluttering in the breeze. SCALFS £1. Presumably to rhyme with calf and half. But shouldn't that then be SCALVES ?!

DeleteCreative spelling! It drew your attention to it, so, it did what it was supposed to do! :) I wish our grocery stores have food bank donations bins, but, so far I haven't seen any.

DeleteThat poster checks all the right boxes apart from spelling and missing a useful postal code. It is very readable and gives the information in order of importance to the viewer.
