Mancunian Monday

We had a really smooth journey on Sunday - although it got quite foggy at the end. Gaz and Steph's new home is lovely. Having a bedroom with ensuite feels like staying in a hotel! The boys were as enthusiastic and affectionate as ever. Jacob came in to see us first thing, and enjoyed storyline with Big Grandad Bob.
After breakfast, Steph took me to Booth's in Knutsford. I can see why
Sue and others in the North West like this supermarket chain! Not as cheap as Aldi/Lidl, but way more atmosphere.
The displays were lovely, staff helpful and friendly - my only reservation the sinister Santa dummy in the Coffee Shop.what a dreadful beard! The top Julian gave me matches my jacket beautifully.
Then home again, to find Bob had been busy with odd jobs [always lots to fix when you move house] I finished decorating the Christmas Cake with the boys. George tells me it's only 3 sleeps till The Day!

How is your week going?

  1. How lovely to spend quality time with family. We are with daughter's family over Christmas, at least they are only 10 minutes away. Xx

  2. Good morning! Lovely photos, I like your new top and the cake looks spectacular! Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year to you and your family. It looks like the big day will be a mild 19 degC here, we do like a traditional lunch and the roast and pud is less appealing if it’s too hot. JennyP

  3. Sounds like a lovely day! Loved the picture of Bob reading to Jacob and of you sitting next to Santa. :)
My week is off to a bit of a wobbly start. I woke up with a headache and my blood pressure had spiked. I have been resting all day.

  4. Oo Booths. I used to love shopping at their stores especially for Chorley cakes and Butter pies. I still have their lovely bags. Enjoy the Northwest and of course your family.

  6. Love this time when the teacher folk and the children in the family are off. Lots more get togethers and everyone's so chilled. I kinda have an en suite when I have sleepovers for babysitting purpose. A dinky little loo next door to my room which I love and disturbs nobody when I have to take flight in the middle of the night!!

I love Booths and we always shop there when we are at St Anne’s-Norrie’s very partial to a. Avon roll and coffee in their cafe. You look fab in the photo with Santa! Enjoy your mini break-the en-suite bedroom makes it just like a hotel break. Catriona
