All Good Gifts Around Us…

He only is the maker
Of all things near and far;
He paints the wayside flower,
He lights the evening star;
The winds and waves obey him,
By him the birds are fed;
Much more to us, his children,
He gives our daily bread.

So much to be grateful for….

…our daily bread…

All good gifts around us
Are sent from heaven above;
Then thank the Lord,
O thank the Lord,
For all his love.

It has been a busy Harvest Festival Day – with lots of children’s activities this morning, [the third picture shows the fruit they used to make Fruit Kebabs!] and a Churches Together Harvest Celebration this afternoon.

This morning we collected tins for the Kingsgate project in nearby Coalville. Bob showed the Micah Challenge 10;10;10 video which Floss posted a few days ago [we used the English version though!]

And at this afternoon’s event, our offering was for the Micah Challenge. The top picture was from the Harvest Display at the Anglican Church, where we all met together. Then we ate still more cake!

We thank thee then, O Father,
For all things bright and good,
The seed time and the harvest,
Our life, our health, our food.
Accept the gifts we offer
For all thy love imparts,
And what thou most desirest,
Our humble, thankful hearts.

  1. In our Prayer and Praise service next week we shall be mentioning the Micah challenge. Our theme is 'Harvesting God's gifts', with the emphasis on what we do with the gifts. Harvest must never remain static, but should have a purpose.
