I saw this idea in Real Simple Magazine, and it makes a lot of sense.
If you buy mince in a large quantity, intending to freeze it – but do not want to use it all at once, try this…
Drape half of a large piece of cling film over your chopping board.
Put the mince on top of the film, and then fold the other half of the cling film over the top, and pat it out to a nice even rectangle.
Now take a chopstick, and by pressing down firmly, use it to mark the mince into regular blocks, to so it looks something like a block of chocolate. Freeze it, and wrap in a couple more layers of cling film.
Now when you come to use it, it will be easy to snap off a few chunks for the recipe. Simples!
