It's my birthday, but instead of a conventional cake, I've made a batch of Swedish Semlor Buns. These are definitely my best yet. The Cornerstones oven is better than the one in Dorset for bread, I think. I am finding hard to realise just how old I am - it's two years since I became an OAP, we retired, and I got my bus pass! But still young at heart
For the last week, I've been singing this song from Holiday Club and dancing in the kitchen like a seven year old. [Please note, this is NOT me on the video. She's a youth worker from Wakefield] But I think the joy of this song is so infectious. The children have really enjoyed the tune and the actions. I hope you enjoy it too.
Happy Birthday! LOVED the song. Hope you have a great day.

DeleteDear belated birthday wishes, well it's only been two days. You're having your birthday with my mother, who would have lived to be 101...well, she lived to be 96.
ReplyDeleteYour cupcakes look wonderful... yes they really are, we can't keep up with our age - actually we are much younger than we really are :-))) and there is a little melancholy that the times are like that off quickly. Therefore - let's make beauty and joy for ourselves and others every day now... and above all for ourselves!!!
Greetings from Viola
96years is a wonderful age - how much change your mother would have seen throughout her lifetime. Your idea of 'making joy and beauty every day' is lovely. That habit will bless others, and keep us going too. Thank you Viola ❤️ππ
