Weekend Round-Up

What a crazy week...
MONDAY -
Bob's birthday. A lovely day, ending with a meal out at Cote Brasserie in Norwich. I love my ear-rings [they were Gill's] but not happy with my straggly hair
TUESDAY - Dentist Visit. New tooth and scale and polish from the hygienist. Smiling a lot! Watched the voting on and off all night.

WEDNESDAY
 - I was invited to join some of the local Mothers' Union for Communion followed by coffee and cake. More on that later [not mentioning the US election result]
Bob had very positive session at the Medical Centre*
THURSDAY - last minute change of plans, asd I was due to meet a friend in Norwich and she broke her wrist. Went into the city anyway, and had a haircut
FRIDAY- Volunteer Visiting at Hospital. Will miss the next 2 Fridays due to Grandparent duty
* this was his regular blood test etc to monitor his diabetes. Thrilled to report he is doing really well. His better eating habits resulting in ongoing weight loss, have made a significant difference. The Practice Nurse was very pleased with him. Pilates is helping the back issues, although one ankle is taking a bit longer to heal.
I have been doing a lot of knitting, as I know I shall not manage so much in the next couple of weeks. In the first 7 days, I exceeded 900minutes [30 x 30] And my generous sponsors- online and in person, have pledged over £450. I am so grateful for their support.
I hope you have had a good week too

  2. That's great about Bob. I too am Type 2 diagnosed in February. I am just controlled by diet and have lost 2 and a half stones, Plus got my blood sugars back down to an acceptable level. Doctor doesn't want to see me for a year? You have had a busy and interesting week. That's great about your knitting sponsorship. Regards Sue H

    1. That's brilliant Sue. Did you follow a particular Diet?

    2. The one recommended by Diabetes UK, low carb, high protein, any carbs eaten high fibre, lots of veg, some fruit. It is very good and I haven't felt hungry or even missed sweet things. Regards Sue H

  3. I thought Bob looked slimmer in some recent photos so well done to him for helping to control his diabetes. We’re off to the eye clinic on Thursday for Norrie’s eye jab and he is now waiting for cataract removal in that eye. Love your fringe-it showcases your lovely smile. Happy weekend. Catriona

  4. Wow! Lots going on! Well done to Bob! That's impressive and I hope helps in numerous ways beyond the Diabetes.
Your hair looks nice and I like the earrings. Which grandchildren are you looking after? I'm presuming Manchester. Very sad as one of my loveliest pupils is moving to Manchester this week. Such a good girl! Kx

    1. Thanks K. It's a round trip - well more triangular - Manchester for the boys then onto London for the girls. Then home to Norfolk, probably exhausted!!!

  8. Hi Angela, I'm finally managing to catch up with my blogging pals. You've certainly had a very busy week and I'm glad that serendipity played a part and you were able to treat yourself to a haircut, which looks lovely by the way ❤️

I'm glad that Bob's visit to the medical centre confirmed some very positive results, so well done for all the hard work! Is the Pilates pertaining to you? I use pilates exercises to deal with ongoing spinal issues and it certainly helps me in this regard.

I loved the story of the red riding hood dressing gowns. I'm pretty sure our twin girls (now 38) had something similar. Sadly due to lack of room I did not hang on to many of their things due to lack of space.

Gah the dreaded election had me in a total spin on Wednesday and I've refused to watch the news since then, as I don't think my wellbeing could cope with hearing him blather on! I've been listening to some interesting takes on why he was voted in ( not aside the fact that he had a slew of wealthy backers) but I'm hopeful that folk on the ground are banding together and they will do all they can to try and prevent total state control. All we can do is pray. Sending love and good cheer to you xx

    1. Thank you SA, lovely to hear from you. I go to Supercuts for haircuts, you don't need to book in advance.
Let's hope things calm down a little this week. In our personal lives and in our world
