…not very far
Outside the front door, there were some packages…
These arrived Wednesday from the superb Silent Lights Company, despatched by the wonderfully efficient Heather. They are going up on the flat roof of the church where they can be seen by people going along Main Street. This is the first year our village has had ‘proper’ Christmas lights on the lamp-posts, and I am thrilled that the Church is joining in with the illuminations. As Chris Duffett keeps reminding us, we need to Be The Light.
Of course, Bob had to take them inside the garage to check they worked [I am told that there are people who use their garages to store cars!]
Up in the loft, [also supplied by Silent Lights] waiting to come down to advertise this weekend’s “Get In The Picture” event…
And in the lounge, Rachel’s Rail is loaded with costumes for GITP too [all sorted and ironed and ready!]
Garage, loft, lounge…I think it is fair to say that there is plenty of evidence that first century Palestine is in evidence all over my house right now.
Immanuel – God with us
Oh I love the idea of God with you so physically as you journey to Bethlehem and invite others to journey too! And incidentally, whose is that fabulously sleek and uncluttered loft???
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas lights - my boys were thrilled to see them lit up this evening. I must take them into London to see some really impressive decorations.
ReplyDeleteJoseph looks pleased with himself! (as well he might, I suppose)
Well, in Bob's case, maybe it should be "God With Us--in the Garage." And everywhere else, too, of course!

The lights look fantastic! Great idea.
ReplyDeleteHave a super time with GITP too
Why would you store a car in the garage? It's designed to stand outside in the wet, unlike much of the stuff in our garage!
ReplyDeleteNo chance of the car fitting in our garage either. Our excuse is thast the drive narrows too much to get down to it in the car - especially as there is a 2' drop onto next door's driveway on the right hand side!
ReplyDeleteI love the lights - simple but effective.
It's going to be super, wish we were near enough to share in the lights.
