Bob and I went into Norwich yesterday, for a special event. I will explain that tomorrow once i have collated all the photos. We saw quite a few more of the GoGo Safari animals across the city. These creatures raise a lot for charity
I dashed into M&S to get a new bra. Unfortunately my 20% off voucher isn't valid till next week, I'd missed that detail ."We've had people coming in all day to try and use these" Never mind, I already had some regular vouchers, so my multipack of 3 only cost me £5.
As I left the store, I noticed a huge poster on the wall - there is no way I could never wear trousers like this! This model must be a foot raller than me. By the time I'd shortened them to fit, I'd look like Coco the Clown!
Why do trousers have such silly names? Carrot, barrel, cigarette and paper bag...then there are Mom jeans, and Boyfriend jeans [and a company called NYDJ , Not Your Daughter's Jeans]
I'm waiting for M&S to introduce Very Short Granny Jeans...
I think it doesn't help that they took the picture from such a weird angle!

DeleteMy grandmother used to look at the clothes being modelled in the catalogues and say “It’s no use buying those - I can’t stand like that”.
DeleteI sometimes wonder what the models feel about the clothes they have to wear.
ReplyDeleteAs long as they get paid properly do they care?
DeleteMy ex-boss used to wear NYDJ. Cost a packet!I'm favouring F&F at Tesco jeans at the mo. their cropped style fit my short legs perfectly! Nice denim and great fit. Tu @Sainsbury similar.
ReplyDeleteM&S ankle grazers are the right length for "regular" trousers on me
DeleteJeans that actually fit would be great. I'm not a granny yet, but I am vertically challenged. Thank goodness for the ability to sew a hem!

DeleteI find it hard in the other direction - plump tall ladies are not catered for. Or there are too many PTL buying jeans before me!
ReplyDeleteI always thought PTL stood for something else
DeletePraise the Lord for Plump Tall Ladies?!
DeleteExactly 😂
DeleteEven on that tall elegant model those trousers look hideous. I am 5 ft and prone to be tubby so I would look ghastly in them in fact the wide leg look makes me look really silly. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteVery short granny jeans? They’re exactly what I need! Charmaine
ReplyDeletePerhaps M&S should have a "silver" range for grey haired OAP jeans wearers
DeleteI also received the 20% off voucher and realised that it wasn’t yet valid. Like you, I was also going to buy underwear however I will leave it until the voucher is valid. I also need some new jeans so will buy those as well. Too hot for me today so indoors until later. Catriona
ReplyDeleteToo hot for jeans. Im in shorts today
DeleteOh yes , me too - the ridiculous names - think I'm wearing a pair of so called 'Sienna Straight ' at the moment. I also need a pair made to measure , they can call 'em ' Cankle skimmer ' for me 😄 I definitely belong in the short fat legs club!
ReplyDeleteAlison in Devon x
Yes, I have some Sienna jeans. Currently a little snug. Must work on that (more salads)
DeleteI am currently loyal to Asda £12 a pair straight-leg jeans. The style fits me perfectly and I live in jeans whatever the weather so that's important. The only downside to them is that they have no front pockets!!
ReplyDeleteI would miss front pockets!
DeleteI too have the Sienna jeans, 1 pair that are just right and 1 pair that are snug (definitely salad for lunch and tea). I would come under the short Granny jeans too. Xx
ReplyDelete😉
DeleteMaybe those jeans would look good on a giraffe - two pairs, of course!
ReplyDelete🦒👖👖🤣🤣🤣
DeleteI agree re silly names for trousers!!! Ridiculous ones!! Shame about the voucher code!!
ReplyDelete👍
DeleteI like those painted/decorated animals. As for jeans, I have two pairs of blue denim jeans with elastic waists that were given to me by my aunt who didn't like them (my cousin bought them for her). They are too long for me, but, I wear them with the cuffs rolled up (too lazy to actually shorten them). They are both a bit baggy on me, but, since I only wear jeans around the house, I don't mind that. :)
ReplyDeleteI regard jeans as a practical work garment, rather than a fashion item to be changed each season.
DeleteI have very short legs so finding pants to fit me length wise is such a pain.
