I am up to my eyes in making bears, with frequent breaks to wash my hands and rehydrate. The neighbourhood cats are sheltering in their homes, avoiding all hot roofs [tin or otherwise] The solar panels are quietly generating lots of energy.
Here's a brief excerpt from Kiss Me Kate.
I am left with two questions...
- If it was that hot, why were they all leaping about so much?
- Have I left it too late to take up tap dancing?
Never too late to take up dancing and goodness knows why they were out dancing in the hot weather. Fifty years ago, we had weather just like this-I had a 15 month old toddler who was inconsolable in the heat. Too hot for me and definitely too hot to go away in the Moho! Catriona
ReplyDeleteI was doing degree finals. The most brilliant guy in the maths dept went outside to revise☀️. Fell asleep, ended up in hospital with heatstroke.🥵 Brilliant, but not wise

DeleteI saw this at the Barbican last year, it was fun and I played viola for a week's run in the pit band at the KMT in Ilford but my favourite memories was putting on a production of it at my music camp Ang I helped create a pair of 20foot velvet curtains with fancy tassels out of paint, corrugated cardboard, old string and wool. They looked magnificent!

ReplyDeleteFeels like a full time job keeping the garden hydrated. We have made a wildlife pond here and it’s so nice to see the birds using it for drinking and bathing.

DeleteI did ballet, but never tap. Aren't there dance classes called Silver Swans for ladies of a certain age. But I'd wait until the weather cools down. Xx

DeleteAlan is keeping me VERY updated with the information on his solar panels app on his phone, telling me exactly how much power we are generating at regular intervals, and exactly how much revenue we are earning.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how they can dance in the heat, I can barely keep up with replacing the water dishes all around out house for the dogs, cats, birds and insects.
I thought the novelty of the solar panels would wear off here. But it hasn't. Five years on, I can tell you that they have already paid for themselves, and today we have had 99.7% of our power from the panels, and sold back 35kw to the grid. It was definitely a good way to invest a (large) chunk of the pension pot.
