Splashit And Run

...the well known firm of Painters and Decorators, have just turned up in the village.

Somehow our carefully planned to-do list for the work on Cornerstones fell by the wayside. Life [and sadly death] got in the way. But hard work is a good coping mechanism, when things go awry. Friday was fine, so we decided to put the weatherproofing treatment on the Lathe Palace. Bob has a spray applicator but we couldn't use it without thinning down the product. So we donned our overalls and set to work with brushes...

Pastor Bob did the high bits, and SuperGran did the low bits. Although the interior of the Lathe Palace is not properly fitted out yet, Bob's moved his tools in, and has a workbench, where he had already been able to work on a few projects. He is so happy to have warmth and space, and light - a proper workshop at last!
I'm sure the sunshine and fresh air did me good - I am feeling utterly drained after my time in Essex.

  1. I didn't realise Bob's lathe palace was so Big!
    Have a good weekend

  2. It's half workshop, half garage [the car part is open, so is technically called a "carriage-house"] But although it is big, its location means it did not need planning permission, which is useful.

  3. Nothing like fresh air and getting something useful done for lifting your spirits. It's an attractive building and I'm sure Bob will create wonderful woodwork in there!

  5. In the days after my father's funeral, my mother and I wallpapered her dining room. She told me had she not been so tired from that job, she'd never have gotten to sleep those first few nights so it was all good.
How wonderful that you and Bob have planned Cornerstones to let you both enjoy your interests, tools, and talents!

    Hugs!

  6. Um, you don't suppose Splashit and Run would want to come across the pond to southern California, do you? I've a house badly in need of a coat of paint, both outside and in! There's something very therapeutic in painting walls, etc., isn't there? I painted several rooms in my house after my mother died. :)
