My Growing Family

Just two pictures which I took on Saturday which sum up this past summer at Cornerstones.
Here's one of the tomatoes from the greenhouse, which seems to have grown in a heart shape. When I brought it inside I found someone had cut a heart out of scrap paper, and left it on the playmat. A ready made mount for a photograph.
My brother Adrian dropped round with a woodworking challenge for Bob - bringing Marion and their grandson Arthur. These cousins don't get together very often. It was really hard to get them sat still for a picture [I think they are wondering why M was making funny faces]
All growing well, and going well, thank the Lord.
As the holidays end, and the autumn draws on, I hope you are have happy, sunny memories to keep you warm as the weather cools...

  1. It's nice that the cousins had an opportunity to get together and it seems appropriate that the tomato should be heart shaped because aren't they sometimes known as "love apples"?

    1. She is 7½. And she makes sure everybody knows about the "and a half"!

  3. Cute photo of the cousins. Our two youngest grandaughters start school this week, Orlagh today, Fearne tomorrow. Does not feel like Autumn today. Hope you have a good week.

  4. Lovely photo although Jess doesn’t look too sure! We are having a late heatwave here-up to 23C is forecast but sadly humid which exhausts me. Catriona

  5. What pretty names! Orlagh means "golden princess" and Fearne is an old Scottish name [in “Charlotte's Web", the little girl Fearne is the heroine - after Charlotte the spider, that is!] I hope they have a good time at school.

  6. Lovely photo, good that they get to see each other as they grow up. Where does the time go? Daughter’s twins start 6th form (16) and son’s eldest is in last year of primary school (10).

  7. Aww, two lovely photos.

Our family is growing too, our niece has just given birth to Finlay-Ross, just two weeks after our great grandson Finley-James was born and both weighing exactly the same. We are going to have to check our spellings on the birthday cards very carefully every year.

  8. That is a challenge. At least you have the second half to help with differentiation. Rosie looks so like her mum did that on Saturday I kept referring to her and Jess as "Liz and Steph" when I was looking after them all day. Conscious that I have less energy than I did 35 years ago...

  9. Cousins. Such a blessing to be part of a wider family and grow up with them. My youngest cousin (now nearly 60!) is bringing her father to tea with us, and my father, this afternoon.

    1. That's lovely. All my UK cousins are older than me (there are 6 younger ones in Oz, not seen for 60 years) But I'm grateful for those I have here, and I'm glad my grandchildren have cousins they see regularly
