I like the song, the lyrics and the idea but I think it is too overproduced. You can hear the vocal autotuner and I wish they'd just left their voices natural. X
I appreciate your comment Kezzie - but unlike you and my dearly beloved, I am afraid I have 'cloth ears' and do not pick up on the technical details!! Can you recommend a better version of this piece?
Great rendition of my favorite Christmas carol. I think it was written by Mark Lawry. At any rate he has a nice recording of it too. Hard to leave the song 'natural' when it's sung in a cave.
It is a lovely song, isn't it? Like you, I can't really hear the "over producedness" of it, and rather like this version (although it annoyed me that the film wasn't synched with what they were singing on the track!) I will seek out the recording by Mark Lowry too...and the words. I didn't know the song at all, so I want to find out a bit more!
Preacher, teacher, wife, mother, grandmother, craftswoman. Married to wonderful Pastor Bob since 1979, now happily retired to Norfolk, but still busy. I am blessed with two brilliant grown-up daughters and four wonderful grand children
I saw that yesterday on Ann Voskamp's site - great minds obviously thinking alike - I love it! Great song well sung xx

ReplyDeleteGood song and good harmonies - I'm going to go and check out some other versions for variety on the slick production.
