All Stitched Up!

I have finally completed my half of the Cross Stitch Collaboration. The stitching was all done by Pentecost as we planned, but I had to complete the notebook with details, and scan the book to send a copy to Kirsten. Now it is all done. My final stitching was the border round the edge. names and dates top and bottom, and I chose verses from Psalm 4 for left and right.
"You put gladness in my heart"
"In peace I will lie down and sleep"
You should be able to click on this for a better view, and for the individual months, click on the "cross country collaboration" label in the sidebar.
The whole piece measures 21" x 11" and is yet to be framed.

The side borders of  Kirsten's say
"Dum Spiro Spero - while I breathe, I hope"
Lo, I am with you always"
This has been a great follow up to our original Postcard Project. I can really recommend this collaborative stitching to build sewing skills and strong friendships.

  2. How beautiful these both are. Well done to you and Kirsten. A true reminder that our lives are made up of small moments and happenings that all count and that we are always greater than the sum of our parts. Sarah in Sussex

  5. Both pieces are a triumph! It's been delightful to share in the process as you have completed them! Am I right in thinking you are keeping the top one and Kirsten, the bottom one?
Would be great to see some highlights from the notebook too! Kx

    1. The notebooks are mostly technical notes about the stitching, and personal notes about our family situations. Not really for sharing

  8. Both pieces are outstanding. Fantastic job ladies.I've got a piece to start for a local seaside project that I've joined but the 12" x 12" blank linen square has been lying for two weeks untouched. You've given me some inspiration to finally get started. (My theme is going to be jellyfish and seaweed, any advice gratefully received!).

    1. Oh that sounds lovely, Ann. My top tips would be (1) if you're learning a new stitch, practice it first on another piece of fabric till you have the hang of it (2) Try different threads (stranded, perle, cotton abroder etc and also couching) to get interesting effects
