Jesus Says "I Will Give You Rest, Come!"

That is the theme of this year's World Day Of Prayer, planned by the women of Nigeria. WDP always happens on the first Friday in March. I checked the Find A Service Near You page, and was pleased to find there is an afternoon service just a few miles away in Dereham. I felt sad that to find that there was no service listed in Kirby Muxloe, and Ferndown was 24 miles from the nearest service. [surely somebody in one of the many Bournemouth churches is doing something?] You can find out more here

  1. There is one at St. Mary's in West Moors, Dorset but I see it isn't registered on the map.

    1. Does the local committee still have a planning lunch in "The Tap & Railway"? I used to enjoy that. And one of my tasks was to get the service listed on the website. I suspect that once you retire as well, things may fall apart

    2. Yes we still meet in the Tap and Railway for lunch. The Catholic ladies can't join us this year. Maggie comes to the end of her turn of office and no one has stepped up to take it over. Therefore this will be West Moors last one.

  2. That is rather the problem with WDP... finding people to join the cttee and organise things... I was about the youngest on our cttee by about 20 years when when I stood down as chair back in 2019 aged a mere 65... luckily some enthusiastic younger women have joined so i think there will be two services in the town as usual.
Our zoom congregation in Leicestershire going to follow the service on Sunday as well as a local village service in the yhe benefice (no WiFi so no streaming) today.
