I Am Not Interested

For the last two weeks, my comments inbox has been receiving daily comments from Anonymous and Unknown. I suspect this is the same person, and automatically generated from the repetition of similar phrases. These comments aIl relate to historic blogposts, not recent ones, and they are amazingly crude.[has anyone else been bothered by comments like these?]
So, A&U, I would just like to remind you that I am an elderly grandmother, with short fat legs, poor eyesight, dodgy teeth and no sense of smell. I am definitely not your type, and I am very happily married. I doubt that even the youngest fittest female could manage some of the activities you are suggesting. I'm deleting the remarks as soon as they arrive.
Even if we were not under lockdown, I would want to completely socially distance from you.
Forget 2 metres...

Just go away.

  1. Yes, I get weird comments although maybe not as weird as yours sound!

  2. I go through phases of getting these comments. I find it bizarre that anyone would think it worth posting them in the first place on a blog like mine - or yours. Always on old posts, which seems even more bizarre and I can't imagine anyone following the links except by accident.
The sad people who post them must have a lot of time on their hands.

  3. I had a look through my old comments and found some too - quite exciting for an old widow lady!!
    Probably all computer generated anyway

    2. I always have comment moderation on for slightly older posts, then these get deleted before ever being published

  4. Yes, I've been receiving some comments, myself, that I send to the spam folder and then, delete. They are a nuisance, aren't they?

  5. Oh dear! What I find annoying is not being able to 'delete' dodgy-looking followers from your followers list. There's one person in particular that has never commented but is just there, lurking on my list and no matter where I've looked, can't find the information to be able to get rid of them.

  6. Whomever it is seems to be on a roll at the moment. One of the US bloggers I follow has had to stop comments for the next week or so as she needs a break from it all and is trying to find a solution. Idiots! Just delete and ry not to read too much. Some people are just too sad for words.

  7. Yes, we just spam label those evil hits, don't we? I'm still working on my Jolly story. I will keep you up to date as soon as he flies.

  8. Horrid. Can you block anonymous comments?

  9. I'm having the same issues. May have to disable unknown comments for a while.

  10. I get a spate of comments from a spammer. There will be about 50 on a lot of very old posts. What I do is reduce my screen size so I can see a whole page of comments and then check all to delete them then do the next page. It's v annoying. I get a lot of Arabic ones!

Always glad to hear from you - thanks for stopping by!
I am blocking anonymous comments now, due to excessive spam!
