...And A Time For Every Purpose Under Heaven
that's from the book of Ecclesiastes, and Psalm 31;15 says "hour by hour, I place my days in your hand" [that's from The Message translation]
I had this great calendar from my best friend Christine, who knows me very well. For every month there is a cute picture, and an encouraging comment. And the cover says "Don't be afraid to slow down". Chris knows I have always been busy and sometimes tried to squeeze in too much. I'm grateful for her loving concern. I can be 'retired' now, and maybe slacken off the pace a little,Maybe not this slowly! [however, I can strongly recommend this game for KS1 children and their families - it is cleverly designed so that nobody wins except the snails]But I can enjoy taking time to walk with my family, and build relationships, and not have to rush home to 'get things done'
In this New Year, slow me down, Lord - teach me to stop, and to look again, at all you have to show me...
The calendar sounds ideal for you and your words for the year, look again. I have written look again in the front of 2022 diary. My little grandsons used to love the Snail's pace game, I bought it from a boot sale, they always wanted to play it when they came to visit. Happy New Year to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteWishing a happy, healthy new year for you and yours Heather!
DeleteSlowing down does help us to Look Again.x
ReplyDeleteYes it does indeed, Happy new year Kezzie
DeleteI'm trying to teach myself slow down but it's a 'work in progress'! Good luck in your efforts this year Angela x
ReplyDeleteIs it an age-related thing? We don't expect to have the energy we had aged 20 something, but we don't want to admit it!
DeleteSince taking early retirement I've become an expert in the art of 'slowing down'!
ReplyDeleteI'm exceptionally good at doing nothing very much, and can spend all day doing it!
It took a few months before I learned to stop 'running', but now, it's probably my greatest talent! X
That's really encouraging Col. It sounds like you are enjoying the change of pacd
DeleteJust read this after an afternoon nap! Is that slow enough? We would have gone for our Sunday afternoon walk but it is bitterly cold out today.
ReplyDeleteI like the saying that there is a season for everything. But, as for slowing down, I think I've slowed down a bit too much! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHappy slowness x I think that sometimes just a very short grasp of slow is all it takes.
ReplyDeleteSounds like we are all aiming for just a little deceleration
