Seven years old today - where has the time gone? Thank you for all the joy you bring us. Grandad and I had a great half term with you, making unicorn masks and magic wands, reading together playing with your little sister, and having lots of fun.
I am so glad you like the new ducks. My favourite is the Pirate, but you were very sure that you liked best 'the one with the book and glasses. I shall call him Sir Quackingham Duck, who lives in Quackingham Palace.'
I know you will get lots of lovely gifts today. Your other gran gave me a piece of embroidery made by her late Aunt, and asked if I could turn it into something for you.
It is now a wall hanging for your newly decorated bedroom. There are over 60,000 stitches in it! It will be a while before Kirsten and I can manage anything that good.
Have a wonderful day - looking forward to seeing you again at Easter.
God bless you today and always 🥰💕💌
Another birthday (although not to be celebrated in birthday style) is the first anniversary of the war in Ukraine.
ReplyDeleteThat is indeed a sad anniversary. I was quite moved last week when Rosie remarked "Grandma, our family is very fortunate. We have so many things that other people don't have" We talked about how we could help other people. I believe it is so important that the younger generation are taught to care, and to share - and to do what they can to make the world a better place. We continue to pray for peace in Ukraine
DeleteI've enjoyed watching Rosie grow up! Happy birthday, Rosie.

Amen ❤️👍
DeleteWhere do the years go? What lovely photos, she obviously loves the masks and wands she made with you. The wall hanging is amazing and perfect for Rosie's room, as well as being a family heirloom!
ReplyDeleteIt is good to think it will be kept in the family and not just put in a CS
DeleteHappy birthday to dear Rosie. Great way to save an heirloom by turning into a wall hanging. I hope you put a label on the back saying who did the needlework so down the road they remember it is a family heirloom.
ReplyDeleteI made two labels for the back - one with Rosie's name, and the date, and saying that it is a gift from ALL her grandparents, the other says "stitched by..." and has the name of the lady who did all the work!
DeleteHappy Birthday, Rosie! Being 7 is such a wonderful time in life!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Yes, I remember being 7 - it was fun!
DeletePlease pass on birthday wishes to Rosie - she is a wonderful lass and I love that she has spotted Sir Quackingham!
