The Grandchildren are growing up fast. Steph and Liz work hard to give them good experiences, and get them out and about, so they can appreciate all the opportunities afforded them living in two great cities. And at home, they play games, do baking together, and much, much more. Weekends are full of fun. And we grandparents really appreciate seeing pictures of their activities and hearing from the children about what they have been doing. They have all had a busy January...
And what have I been doing? Cleaning up the high chair and travel cot. The children can sit properly on dining chairs at mealtimes, and they all sleep in beds now, so we won't need these anymore. Tomorrow these two items will be going to the Dereham [Ukraine] Aid Centre. I understand that they are dropping 'Ukraine' fromn their name now, as they provide aid to anyone in the community who needs it.
The well loved items will be much appreciated by their new owners. Catriona

DeleteLovely photos, time flashes by so fast, great to have a record of joyful times. I am sure the out grown items will be much appreciated baby/toddler equipment always gets snapped up quickly. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteThese are good quality, and I am glad they will be passed on to families who have limited incomes.
DeleteEnd of an era when we get rid of the baby paraphernalia! Words of wisdom from the four year old Golden Boy on Sunday...'you can't look after me anymore cause you've stayed at my house for three times'! Once I gave him the Transformers toy I bought for him, I was his best pal for the rest of the day!
ReplyDeleteFour year olds say great things. George pointed out that they wouldn't see the octopus "because they live in saltwater, and this is fresh water in the bath"
DeleteSuch lovely pics of all of your lovely grandchildren. It is good to pass on baby equipment to families that need them. I have always believed in passing things on.
ReplyDeleteThese things are certainly not blessing anyone if they are just stored in my loft are they?
DeleteGreat photos of your grandchilden, lovely to look back as they grow up. We do not see too much of our youngest ones but keep in touch by phone and pics. I am sure someone will be delighted with the high chair and travel cot. 👍
ReplyDelete👍 Grateful for phones and technology which keeps us in touch too, when they are hundreds of miles away
DeleteThank you for sharing the pictures of the grand children as they engage in fun activities, confident and safe in the knowledge that their parents are not at risk of being arrested and deported because they lack legal documentation. I read an article where a woman described how she tried to reassure a 4 year old girl who was crying with fear that her parents will be taken away, after Sunday's raids. It broke my heart.
ReplyDeleteIt's very generous of you to donate the outgrown baby items. I had held on to a certain educational toy my mother had bought for my daughter when she was a toddler and, just this weekend, we gave it to my daughter's friend for her own two little girls.
I could weep for these families.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to assess which of our toys should be passed on. The Sylvanian Families are definitely staying, but some of the baby/toddler toys will be going soon!
Its so nice to be only 10 minutes away from daughter's family and I know they appreciate us picking up the slack when we can. I'm sure someone will appreciate the donated items, I used to give ours to our next door neighbour, a social worker with small children. Xx
ReplyDeleteThat is lovely for them [and for you too! but I guess tiring sometimes]
DeleteThat is a lovely thing to do, quality lightly used items will be so useful to other people. Those are a lovely set of photos, they definitely get up to lots of brilliant activities don't they.
ReplyDeleteOh they do - Liz, Steph and the Dads come up with great ideas
DeleteHow lovely for your grandchildren to have so many good experiences in their childhood. It's so important for their future.
ReplyDeleteLearning, and building memories together

DeleteWonderful photos, thanks for sharing them!
ReplyDeleteIt is many years now since I got rid of the "grandma" cot and high chair to good homes, and later I passed on toys to new grandmas, as DGD grew out of them. We still have the photos of those early years, though.
Always good to have photos!
DeleteYour grandchildren are so lucky - and they look like they are relishing all the opportunities.
