This year's Christmas stamps are the first to feature the silhouette of our new King, Charles III. I really like the design, and will buy lots, to last me all year. The words come from various popular carols
- 2nd - O Holy Night
- 2nd large - O Little Town of Bethlehem
- 1st - Silent Night
- 1st large - Away in a Manger
- £2.20 - We Three Kings
It came upon the midnight clear
That glorious song of old
From angels bending near the earth
To touch their harps of gold
"Peace on the earth, goodwill to all
From heaven's all gracious King"
The world in solemn stillness lay
To hear the angels sing.
...
Still through the cloven skies they come
With peaceful wings unfurled
And still their heavenly music floats
O'er all the weary world
Yet man, at war with man, hears not
The love song which they bring
...
Oh hush the noise, ye men of strife
And hear the Angels sing!
Lovely stamps! Yes, please, to "Peace on the earth, goodwill to all"

DeleteYour stamps are beautiful and truly Christmas. I wish the USA had stamps like these for Christmas, ours tend to be non-Christian and feature things like mittens or snow.
ReplyDeleteIn the UK they alternate - one year Christian, the next a secular theme. But customers can ask for the previous year's design
