Back, Again

The main issue which has complicated things over the past week has been Bob's worsening back pain. On Thursday and Friday, he was struggling to get out of bed, and to walk to the bathroom or lounge. The GP has been incredibly helpful, and upped the pain meds significantly.  But that means he's a bit woozy some of the time and cannot drive. And planned activities for the next few weeks have been severely curtailed.
I don't cope very well when the people I love are in pain, and I feel so impotent and unable to help. Thank you everyone for your concern, and the comments here, and all the emails etc. We are both grateful.  Taking each day as it comes.
Yesterday evening was lovely - Bob's sister and her husband have been in Norfolk for a couple of days and came over for a meal. It was so good to chat, and laugh together.
I took this picture of a beautiful rainbow shining over the Close. We have so much to be thankful for.

  2. I'm so sorry that Bob's back pain is worsening. Hope the pain medications work and he will feel better, soon. In the meantime, take it easy and spend time relaxing at home.

  6. One of the worst things - I find - about back pain is lack of sleep as a few days of broken sleep makes the situation a whole lot worse. I've just had a quick Google for log-rolling out of bed and there are plenty of videos. You learn how to do it after spinal surgery and I still do it 20 years later.

  7. You and Bob of course have my sympathies. My husband has a bad back from a skiing injury many years ago. Made much worse by really bad arthritis in his lower back which can only be helped by strong pain killers. He is in agony most days but never complains. It is so hard to witness and he hates me "making a fuss" as he calls it! It must have been a real boost to have welcome visitors and enjoy a happy time. Wishing Bob some relief and you too Ang. 9. Sorry to hear about the back pain, my sister and also a good friend suffer a lot and it has curtailed their activities a lot. I hope they are able to find the cause and be able to do something about it.
