There was a lot of fetching and carrying, and a lot left. We had a few visitors, not a lot - and made about £30. I am beginning to think that sewing BBQ aprons was an easier way of fund raising! A couple of guys expressed an interest at coming along to Shed Sessions, and I had good chats with some of the locals and their dogs*.
Over the course of the weekend, Bob has developed a nasty cold, and I think I am catching it now...
Today will be a Slow Day - I don't think I should go to Craft Group in case I have a sneezing fit.
A quick mention of Heather, who has been following Tracing Rainbows since March 2015. I did not know this till we actually met in person last autumn, and I discovered she lives less than 3 miles away. So we meet for coffee and chat sometimes. She has become a really good friend - I hope she has a lovely day today, as it is her birthday.

What a shame that you didn’t have more customers after all your organisation to raise funds for the Shed. Definitely a new bosom buddy once the bra is fixed! Hope Bob isn’t too debilitated by his cold and fingers crossed you shake off yours. Catriona
ReplyDeleteThank you C. The weather is lovely, so perhaps we can relax in the garden later.
DeleteThat is disappointing you didn't get more buyers/visitors to youngest sale. We visited two garage sales on Saturday in the same road and both said it had been very quiet yet the weather was lovely. I hope both of you feel better with your colds. I have just got over one given to me by my Husband, his cleared up very quickly but mine has hung about, Thank you Dear! Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteWhy do colds feel worse when the weather is lovely? 🌞
DeleteI'm sorry you didn't make more/sell more. Have a gentle day and I hope the colds abate. Xx
ReplyDeleteIt was a good opportunity to publicise The Shed even if we didn't sell much l
DeleteRotten to get a cold at the beginning of Spring/Summer, hope recovery is quick and you don't get it.
ReplyDeleteI think I am getting it! Fortunately (unlike Bob) I'm not on any medications which preclude taking cold relief meds. I'm digging out the echinacea
DeleteHope you both feel better very soon and just take things easy for a day or two.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you, Heather. Enjoy your special day. 🎉🎂💐
Thank you
DeleteI hope the the Shed becomes well known and attracts more participants, it's a great thing.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed you take things easy today and do get to sit in the sun for a while. I want to banish colds! JanF
I have got lots of knitting done!!
DeleteI've also developed a Spring cold/cough. I don't feel ill, but have a hacking cough. I'm taking Bronco-Stop on a regular basis. Just hoping I don't have a coughing fit when I'm doing a reading at my friend's funeral tomorrow. Xx
ReplyDeleteOh I hope that goes ok. We are both due to be at funerals in Friday (in different places, both at 1pm)
DeleteDefinitely a new 'busom buddy'. With this changeable weather it's not surprising that so many people are coming down with colds. I hope you are both feeling better soon. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue
Delete*Can you mend that bra or will it be a bust
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen yard sales or jumble sales around for years here, but if I remember, they were falling off. But it's good publicity.
😂😂😂
DeleteI hope Bob soon gets over his cold and that you manage to shake off yours before it takes hold. I can see why you prefer making shed aprons to having a yard sale, sewing comes naturally to you and is satisfying, as well as work. I read in our local paper that there is a group thinking to start a Men's Shed. I'm sure it will do well if they do.
ReplyDeleteThe Sheds are so beneficial to their communities, for all sorts of reasons
DeleteHope you are both feeling better now.
ReplyDeleteThe meds seem to be working for Bob, thankyou
