Listening to the radio today I was sorry to hear of serious flooding in Scotland round the village of Fochabers.
We visited this pretty little spot in 2001 when we were on a camping holiday in Scotland. It was seriously wet then, as is usual when I am in a tent, but not as bad as it is this week.
To get out of the rain we went to the Baxter's Visitor Centre.
This is the home of all those wonderful soups and other foods.
Don't go right this minute, the police are already having trouble with 'sightseers coming to look at the flood damage' [ how incredibly thoughtless!] But if you are ever in that part of Scotland, I can recommend it as well worth a visit.
As well as learning about the products, you get to see Ena Baxter's artwork, watch a cookery demonstration, sample foodstuffs, and get given a little takeaway pack of goodies. Oh and they have a good tea shop too, as well as the Gift Shop which is obligatory in such places!
Hoping the good folk of Fochabers are soon warm and dry again.
