HM's Horses On Holiday At Holkham

I just had to share this brief, beautiful clip of the Queen's Household Calvary [comprising the Life Guards, Blues and Royals] on holiday in Norfolk [where else?]  Look at these beautiful creatures enjoying Holkham Beach. After all the pomp and pageantry of the recent Jubilee celebrations, a chance to relax, and bond with their riders.[watch out for the artist too]

  1. What a lovely start to my morning! It's so good to see how much both horses and riders are enjoying the beach. Wonderful to feel so free after their tightly run lives in service.

  4. How wonderful, I bet they all relish that time away from official duties. The artists work was amazing, he must work quite quickly to get the picture to that stage on the beach.

  5. Thanks so much for sharing this, Angela. It was so moving to see the horses galloping on the beach, as well as frolicking in the sea and on the sand. So many times, I've watched the QHC doing their very early morning rides up and around Piccadilly in London, so it was a treat to see them in all their splendor on the beautiful Norfolk coast.

    1. It's great to think that they get a break from regular duties every summer, and leave the London pavements for the sandy beaches and cool waves of Norfolk.
