As usual, Leicestershire’s Half Term does not seem to coincide with anyone else. Norfolk is next week, I am told that Scotland was last week – and I have no idea when N.I. get their Spring break!
I had every intention of finishing off all sorts of little craft projects during this week at Cornerstones. I brought a huge bag of bits and pieces to work on.
But Bob’s Sleep Apnoea has recently reared its noisy head again, and so we are both ridiculously tired. We have decided to take things very gently and catch up on REST.
We ventured into Dereham briefly on Monday, for petrol and the Post Office, and called in at the most excellent town library – I borrowed a load of craft books . They also lend out magazines for a week, which I think is a brilliant idea. I wish our village library in Leics did that – they do not even stock proper daily newspapers anymore]
So I am doing some reading
One thing in my big green bag was a polybag of tangled embroidery silks [20p from a Scout Jumble Sale] and I have recycled the tube from the kitchen roll, cutting it into small rectangles, and will spend time untangling and winding these to make them usable! That’s about the limit of my crafting enthusiasm right now! It is a good task to do whilst watching TV and doesn’t take much brain power. I hope to pick up speed by the end of the week so I can take at least one finished project back with me. But even blogging is sapping my energies at the minute…zzz…
Enjoy the break, hope you both have a good rest, it's certainly very well deserved, & that the sleep apnoea settles down again. Relax & enjoy your half term break. Your local library sounds excellent by the way. The threads were a bargain, hope the untangling goes well whilst watching some TV. Have a lovely week, Vee xx
ReplyDeleteThe untangling sounds very theraputic. Resting is doing something you know. It is doing something to allow your body to recharge. V important.
ReplyDeletePoor you...keep on gently zzzzzing and take as much rest as you need.
ReplyDeleteWe're always off for the week where Hallowe'en falls, pagans as we are. I love it! So next week for us. At Corrymeela all this weekend- we're all going up for me to do staff, and we've got one of the little houses. Nice start to the week- despite atrocious weather forecast!
ReplyDeleteSo that's next week for you then. Have funx
DeletePoor you! My Mum's husband has sleep apnoeia and he has the most dreadful snore which is, I imagine, impossible to sleep next to and then he chokes/stops breathing with a scary noise! What form does Bob's take?x
ReplyDeleteThat's an excellent description. Once the hospital sorts out a cPap machine to help with the breathing, things will improve dramatically we know. They certainly did last time round! Has your Mums OH tried one of these fab devices?
DeleteHope you get some decent rest. I have to confess sometimes a job like untangling silks is quite enjoyable for me.
ReplyDeleteWe are on half term too, but (guilty but grateful whisper) we have 2 weeks off! With the eldest at school 8-5.30 I do feel we deserve it...
ReplyDeleteSo anyway, do enjoy your rest, and I pray the NHS comes up with the goods quickly!
