A prayer on the occasion of the Coronation - 6 May 2023
Living and Almighty God,
On the occasion of the coronation,
we pray for King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
As they commit themselves to ongoing lives of service
may they lean on you for wisdom, grace, humility and strength.
May they sense your presence with them, guiding and moulding them
as they seek to fulfil the duties of the monarchy.
In this moment, may we too recommit ourselves to lives of sacrificial service
to one another
to the communities to which we are called
but above all to you, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords,
and to the realisation of your coming Kingdom, on earth as it is in heaven.
So bless King Charles III and Queen Camilla today
and bless us too,
so that we all might be a blessing to others.

ReplyDeleteTheir service to the country at this age is a tall ask and I hope God gives them the strength and vitality they are going to need to do the job - it is so totally opposite to the young age of Queen Elizabeth when she was crowned.
