Please Mr Postman!

Jolly Postman is on his way to Scotland! Having had dates with three lovely ladies [and plenty of fun with Rosie] he is off to stay with Anne. I have followed carefully all the instructions...

I included three pictures of 'the girls' each with a brief biography on the back.

I put the story of his visit to Cornerstones in the envelope [which is basically the various blogposts you have read here] and I stamped his passport

And on the two blank journal pages allotted to me I put some pictures of Norfolk plus a map.  I cheated a bit - previous hostesses have done fabulous works of art - drawings, doodles, calligraphy... I am afraid I just cut some pictures out of some free Norfolk Tourism leaflets.

Oh, and I included a small gift for the next hostess [Anne] as suggested by PomPom

It has been fun being part of this Blog-Tour, especially this time round, with a small child assisting me. But unlike PomPom's earlier "World Tours", this one does have a specific purpose. I am concerned that after meeting a score of eligible women, Jolly will be overwhelmed with choice, and feel unable to commit to any of them for fear of disappointing the rest. I hope one of these many females will please Mr Postman.

Will we get to vote on our favourite to be his bride, or will PomPom make the decision - or worst option, will the name come out of an envelope? Rosie liked all three of his Norfolk dates!

I'm not really convinced by this speed-dating lark. On the other hand, getting a piece of real mail - not an electronic message of some sort - is rather special.

And encouraging the younger generation to put pen to paper is always good too. Thanks PomPom for setting up this crazy caper!

[I do love the music of The Carpenters!]

  1. It looks as though Jolly had a wonderful time with you, Rosie and his Norfolk dates, let's hope he enjoys Scotland as much!
It was always considered a tad 'uncool' to be a Carpenter's fan, but as I was brought up to march to the beat of my own drum, I was a loud and proud Carpenter's fan. Karen’s voice was so lovely, and so clear, I do like to be able to make out the words being sung. We lost her far too young, but at least we can still hear her lovely music. I've always been a John Denver fan too, I'm 'super uncool'!
Having said that, I've been doing housework to the sounds of AC/DC this morning, so my tastes are varied, to say the least!
Have a great weekend, take care! X

    1. I loved the Carpenters and John Denver too, even if it was "uncool". I noticed an ad on TV recently using "We've only just begun" as background music. Karen had a beautiful voice, and her death at such a young age was so sad. Hope your weekend is good too

  2. I liked the Carpenters too, but my all out favourite was The Spinners, closely followed by The King Singers.

    1. The King's Singers were so clever. In the 1970s another group of music students from King's College Cambridge called Cantabile continued their style (I know this because one of the founder members was my boyfriend!)

  3. I really love this fun idea of Pom Pom's. It's so innocent and fun. I hope Jolly makes a choice. A vote would be fairest. If she puts the stories all into one post, we could all comment!

  6. Well, now I am wondering if it should be a vote instead of drawing the hostess name and letting her choose. Maybe I'll draw the hostess name for keeping Jolly and his big parcel . . . hmmmmm. Thank you so much for showing him such a great time! I've so enjoyed every post! xoxoxo
