Walk Like An Egyptian...

It was definitely "fine weather for ducks" on Saturday. We all went over to Swaffham, and splashed along in the rain. There were ducks everywhere- waddling up the road, looking around the carpark, and sitting on the damp leaves in the marketplace.

Rosie and I dived out of the weather into King Tut's Emporium [which Bob and I visited last summer] I knew she was interested in the Ancient Egyptians

I thought she would enjoy this eccentric bar-bistro-gallery] The owner was so kind and chatted to this enthusiastic little girl, and said we could take photos.

After that we went and had lunch at Margaret's Tea Rooms on the opposite side of the marketplace.
This venue has an excellent indoor play area, where children can enjoy themselves in sight of the adults and families can have meals together,

  1. Ooh I used to love all things Egyptian when I was young too, I would spend far too much time in Manchester Museums Egyptian department marvelling over the mummies and treasures. I bet Rosie would love it there.

  3. Ah, I well remember The Bangles and the "Walk Like An Egyptian" song!
What marvelous places you took Rosie! As my sweet AMIL used to say, "Make good memories with the kids!" I remember being very interested in the ancient Egyptians as a child.

    Hugs!

    1. It was a fun song, wasn't it. Did they ever have any other hits?

  4. Ducks can be quite opportunist when there is extra water around. A few years ago the river flooded at the bottom of the road and one resident had ducks swimming on the front lawn! Fortunately the water never reached the house.

  5. Love that smile on Rosie's face! My daughter, too, loved all things Ancient Egyptian as a child and we went to see the King Tut exhibit when it came to Los Angeles, a long time ago (we couldn't manage to go the second time it came through our area a few years ago).
