At the beginning of March, I had an urge to knit something. I rummaged through my knitting patterns, and found one which someone gave me a while back - and in The great Stash, there was enough yarn to knit it up. The pattern had two variations - a hood, or a boatneck. I didn't think I had quite enough wool for the hoodie, and I like to give Mums jumpers which go easily over a baby's head.I knitted up the 6-12 month size. But when I'd finished, I felt the boat neck was quite generously sized. I think that baby in the grey jumper has been carefully posed! I added a couple of buttons and loops at the side of the neck, and I think it will fit better. It is going into the 'Present Drawer' until I find a little one to give it to.This young man is getting really big now, he's had his first haircut and his first trip to the library. He will be two next month!
He looks even taller when he is standing on tiptoe! Definitely a cheeky chappie.
He looks so happy!! Where did your grandchildren get their red hair from?
ReplyDeleteThe boatneck jumper is beautiful!x
That gorgeous red hair comes from Bob's Mum - she was a beautiful lady, both in appearance and character.
DeleteAw, he's so cute!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely little sweater you knitted! :)
Thank you Bless! I hope enjoy your latest knitting project, and look forward to seeing your blogposts
DeleteThat is a very practical and attractive sweater. Nice to have something like that put by for a future little one.
ReplyDeleteI can see George likes the library, and he has the cutest smile as he stands on tiptoes.
He has grown so much since we saw him at Christmas .
DeleteWhat an awesome young man! Something that goes easily over the head is always better.
ReplyDeleteChildren quickly learn which garments are hard to put on, then they wriggle and make it even worse!
