After so many years of huge Holiday Bible Clubs, with100 children, it was lovely to be in a small group with around 25 children per day. Everything went really smoothly - no disasters, no upsets [no covid!] And the craft sessions all resulted in some lovely things the children were proud to show to family. Because there are always younger siblings who are upset that they cannot stay, we have colouring sheets for them to take home
Monday - we made lavender bags, each with a decorated gift tag, and also Hosanna TrumpetsTuesday - we made collages of food pictures which were laminated into placemats [round the edge it says Thank you for the world so sweet, thank you for the food we eat...]Wednesday -Our Easter gardens looked spectacular. The children took such care arranging the path, the grass, the pond and the flowers.
All these children were from our local village school up the street from the Chapel - many of them came to the excellent toddler Group when they were younger. I hope lots of them come on Easter Sunday to our special service. Thank you everyone involved!
It all looks so well planned and organized! I like the Easter gardens! :)
ReplyDeleteWe used silk flowers so that they would last - it is still 10 days to Easter Sunday
DeleteThat's wonderful! I miss the days of Whizzbang, our kids mission.
ReplyDelete...though....controversial comment coming here... I loathe laminating!!! We have so much stuff that gets unnecessarily laminated at school that I just cringe when I see it!!
ReplyDeleteI do take your point. And I agree that some schools waste a lot of plastic & paper.
DeleteWhat great items to take home with them and the gardens are superb!

DeleteIt is so nice to hear about the Easter children Club. You and those who were in charge did a great job!
ReplyDeleteThank you Marit - is this the sort of activity your church provides in the school holidays?
DeleteIt's wonderful to see the crafts. I'm glad that it went well.
